Where to park and charge at each Mansley property
Parking arrangements differ considerably across the Mansley collection, and it’s worth knowing which is which before you book. There’s secure, private parking in Edinburgh and Inverness, an off-road area serving both Cheltenham properties, and no on-site parking at either London property.
Electric vehicle charging is simpler still. The Knight Residence is the only property where we currently offer it, plus it is free to charge your electric vehicle.

Edinburgh: the strongest option for drivers
The Knight Residence offers secure, private parking, which is genuinely hard to come by in Edinburgh’s Old Town. Fees apply. Long stay bookings of 90 nights benefit from parking free of charge, so it’s worth raising when you enquire if you’re relocating, on a long project or spending a season in the city.
It’s also where our electric vehicle charging is, offered complimentary for plug-in hybrid and fully electric cars and subject to available spaces. Ask us to note it on your booking so we know you’ll need a charging bay rather than a standard one.
Braid Apartments in the New Town has no parking of its own, though guests booking Braid can request a space at The Knight Residence instead. The two are about a mile apart, roughly a 24 minute walk, so it works well enough; it just means your car and your apartment aren’t in the same place. If you’d rather have both together, The Knight Residence is the one to book.
London: plan for public parking
We don’t offer on-site parking at either of our London properties, so it’s worth sorting where your car will go before you set off. For No.1 The Mansions in Earl’s Court, the nearest parking facility is on Lille Road, a 10 minute walk away. Curzon Street sits in Mayfair, where street parking is metered and heavily restricted, so a public car park is the realistic option there too.
Both London properties are well served by the Underground, and for most guests that’s the easier way to move around the city. Earl’s Court station is close to No.1 The Mansions, and Green Park station is close to Curzon Street.
Cheltenham: one parking area, two properties
In Cheltenham we have an off-road parking area a couple of minutes’ walk from Crescent Place, and it serves guests at both Crescent Place and Strozzi Palace Suites. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis, and fees apply.
That makes Cheltenham straightforward for anyone driving in for the Festival at the racecourse, the Literature Festival or a weekend of Regency architecture and shopping. Do mention when booking that you’ll be arriving by car so we can confirm arrangements, particularly during festival weeks when the town is busy.
Inverness: secure parking on site
Highland Apartments has secure, private parking on site. One space is available per apartment. Fees apply.
Inverness is the property most guests reach by car, and a good number of stays here are built around driving out to Loch Ness, Culloden or Cawdor Castle, so it’s the place in the collection where having a space on site makes the most practical difference.

Common parking questions
Is parking included in the price of a stay?
Not as standard. Fees apply at The Knight Residence, at Highland Apartments and at the Cheltenham parking area, and rates vary by property and length of stay. Booking directly with us brings discounted parking rates, so it’s worth comparing before you book elsewhere.
Can I reserve a parking space in advance?
In most cases, yes. Let us know you’re bringing a car at the point of enquiry and we’ll confirm what’s available for your dates. At Highland Apartments one space is available per apartment, and in Cheltenham spaces are limited and released on a first come, first served basis, so earlier is better at both.
Can guests at Braid Apartments park in Edinburgh?
Yes, though not at Braid itself. Braid Apartments on Thistle Street has no parking of its own, so guests can request to reserve a space at The Knight Residence in the Old Town instead, subject to availability. Fees apply, and the two properties sit about a mile apart.
Can I charge an electric car at a Mansley property other than The Knight Residence?
Not at the moment. The Knight Residence is the only property in the collection with electric vehicle charging, offered complimentary for plug-in hybrid and fully electric cars and subject to available spaces. If you’re staying elsewhere with us and driving an electric car, you’ll be using a public charging network, so it’s worth checking what’s available close to the property before you travel.
Which emission zones apply when driving to a Mansley property?
Two of our four cities have schemes, and they work in different ways. London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone covers every London borough, so it applies wherever you’re staying with us in the city and whether or not you cross a boundary on your journey. The Congestion Charge is separate and covers central London, including Mayfair, during charging hours. Rates and hours have changed more than once recently, so Transport for London is the quickest place to confirm the current position.
Edinburgh’s city centre Low Emission Zone works differently, because it isn’t a charge you pay to enter. Non-compliant vehicles are prohibited, and driving one inside the zone results in a penalty charge. It has been fully enforced since June 2024, applies to all motor vehicles except motorcycles and mopeds, and operates around the clock, every day. You can check your vehicle and the boundary on the City of Edinburgh Council’s low emission zone pages, which is particularly useful if you’re driving something older or a hire car you haven’t chosen yourself. Cheltenham and Inverness have neither scheme.
