Which Mansley property suits your trip?

Mansley has seven properties open across four UK cities, with York to follow in Spring 2027. They share a standard of finish and a booking system, but they aren't interchangeable, and the differences between them matter more than the similarities when you're choosing where to stay.
Mansley has seven properties open across four UK cities, with York to follow in Spring 2027. They share a standard of finish and a booking system, but they aren't interchangeable, and the differences between them matter more than the similarities when you're choosing where to stay.
The quickest way to narrow it down is to answer three questions in order: how many of you are travelling, how long you're staying, and whether you're bringing a car.
How many bedrooms do you actually need?
To help you quickly check if a property suits the size of your group, you can find the maximum occupancy for each apartment and room type in the table below.
No.1 The Mansions in London has the widest range in the collection, running from studios up to four bedroom apartments, along with a Signature Collection that includes the Devonshire, Highgrove and Garden Suites. If you're travelling as an extended family or a group who want to stay under one roof, it's the property with the most room to work with.
The Knight Residence in Edinburgh's Old Town goes up to three bedroom apartments across its City and Comfort ranges, which covers most family groups. Braid Apartments in the New Town and Highland Apartments in Inverness both top out at two bedrooms.
Our two Cheltenham properties work differently again. Strozzi Palace Suites is an all-suite residence with six individually styled suites, and Crescent Place has fourteen suites and rooms. Both are set up for couples and solo travellers rather than larger groups, so if you're four adults wanting separate bedrooms, Cheltenham isn't the part of the collection to look at on this occasion.
How long are you staying, and will you be cooking?
Kitchens vary across the collection, and it's the detail that most often decides whether a longer stay works comfortably.
Fully equipped kitchens are what you'll find at No.1 The Mansions, The Knight Residence, Braid Apartments and Highland Apartments. If you're staying a fortnight and want to shop and cook properly rather than eat out every night, those four are set up for it. Laundry matters just as much over a long stay, and every apartment at The Knight Residence includes a washer dryer, as do the apartments at Braid, which makes packing light a realistic option.
The Cheltenham properties are a different proposition. Strozzi Palace Suites has compact kitchenettes in its suites, which are fine for breakfast, coffee and putting together something simple in the evening, and less suited to cooking for four. Crescent Place offers the option of self-catering, so it's worth asking what's provided in the room type you're considering.

Housekeeping is one thing you don't need to compare. Every property in the collection has a daily light housekeeping service, followed by a full service once a week.
Are you driving?
If you're arriving by car, the collection varies considerably.
The Knight Residence has secure, private parking, which is genuinely difficult to come by in central Edinburgh, and complimentary electric vehicle charging for plug-in hybrid and electric cars, subject to available spaces. Parking fees apply. If you're touring Scotland by car and want an Edinburgh base you can park at, that's the one. Guests booking Braid Apartments can request to reserve a space at The Knight Residence rather than at Braid itself, since Braid has no parking of its own.
Highland Apartments has secure, private parking on site. One space is available per apartment and fees apply, which makes it a workable base for driving out to Culloden, Cawdor Castle or Loch Ness.
In Cheltenham, an off-road parking area a couple of minutes' walk from Crescent Place serves guests at both Crescent Place and Strozzi Palace Suites. Spaces are limited and offered on a first come, first served basis, and fees apply, so do mention when you book that you'll be arriving by car.
Neither London property has parking on site. The nearest facility to No.1 The Mansions is on Lille Road, about a 10 minute walk, and Curzon Street sits in Mayfair, where street parking is metered and heavily restricted, so a public car park is the realistic option.

Choosing between two properties in the same city
London, Edinburgh and Cheltenham each have two properties, and the choice between them comes down to character and practicalities rather than quality.
In Edinburgh, The Knight Residence sits in the Old Town within a short walk of the Castle, the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket, and it's the one with parking. Braid Apartments is on Thistle Street in the New Town, closer to George Street's shops, the St James Quarter and the restaurant scene, and within walking distance of Waverley. Old Town for atmosphere and arriving by car, New Town for shopping, dining and arriving by train, put simply.
In Cheltenham, Strozzi Palace Suites occupies a restored Italianate building near the Promenade and the town's festival venues. Crescent Place is a Grade II listed former Baptist chapel dating from 1855, with arched chapel windows and high ceilings, reimagined as suites and rooms with Hypnos beds and coffee machines. One thing to know there: because of its listed status, Crescent Place has no lift and rooms are reached by stairs. If stairs are a problem, tell us before you book and we'll talk through your requirements.
In London, the split is between Mayfair and Earl's Court.Curzon Street is a Georgian townhouse moments from Green Park and Shepherd Market, well placed for the West End, Bond Street and Piccadilly. No.1 The Mansions is a Victorian townhouse near Earl's Court Underground, with the museums of South Kensington and Kensington High Street within reach, and considerably more space for larger parties.
Inverness stands alone in the collection, and it's the property to choose when the point of the trip is what's outside the city rather than inside it. Highland Apartments looks across the River Ness towards Inverness Castle, with the station and bus station both within a short walk. Many of the apartments have private balconies or wide windows, though not all do, so ask if that matters to you.
